Mid Wales, with its stunningly beautiful scenery, quiet and winding roads, lack of urban sprawl and good accommodation, has long been a favored location for Car and vintage vehicle Clubs. Those staying in the area are accommodated at hotels such as The Metropole in Llandrindod Wells, or The Brynafon Country Hotel in Rhayader, both of which have many years of experience in receiving and looking after Car Clubs. Many travel from the West/North Midlands or the West Country for the day.
Since The Hall at Abbey-Cwm-Hir opened to tours of the public in April 2007, it has become a favored visiting location for Car Clubs, adding something a little different to their driving experience.
In 2007 a number of clubs visited The Hall as part of their drive on a particular day. Drivers and their passengers ate a finger buffet lunch, enjoyed the tour of the house, and then wandered around the 12 acre grounds, the abbey ruins and the church. Visiting clubs have included:
